Family. Friends. Purpose. Values. As circumstances vary, so does the meaning of these elements of life. JarRing explores both sides of human behavior. It was conceived in 2007 when the filmmakers discovered records of a serial killer who attracted victims with phone messages and cut his victims into pieces and neatly packed them in cans and jars for preservation. As the search for the story deepened, oddly similar attitudes with many of the most notorious serial killers started to emerge:
"I hated all my life. I hated everybody. When I first grew up and can remember I was dressed as a girl by mother. And after that was treated like what I call the dog of the family. I was beaten. I was made to do things that no human bein' would want to do."
-Henry Lee Lucas
"I viewed them as objects. It is hard for me to believe a human being could have done what I've done.
-Jeffrey Dahmer
"Look down on me, you will see a fool. Look up at me, you will see your Lord. Look straight at me, you will see yourself."
-Charles Manson
"You feel the last bit of breath leaving their body. You're looking into their eyes. A person in that situation is God!"
-Ted Bundy
"I opened her breast and with a knife cut through the fleshy parts of the body. Then I arranged the body as a butcher does beef, and hacked it with the axe into pieces."
-Andreas Bichel
"We serial killers are your sons, we are your husbands, we are everywhere. And there will be more of your children dead tomorrow."
-Ted Bundy
